YOUTH CARE PARENT DAYS 1/2026 CANCELLED
_____________________________________________________________________________
January 21, 2026

Dear Parents,

Our leadership team met today and made the difficult determination to cancel our upcoming parent days for next week. This decision was not made lightly. We need to cancel this event so that we can totally focus on your student and their therapeutic growth. Given the ongoing behavioral challenges of our students, damage to our campus and the overall safety for our staff, students and parents, we are confident we are making the best decision for everyone involved. We need to cancel this event so that we can totally focus on your students.
We are in the process of restructuring our program to better meet the ongoing therapeutic and behavioral needs of our students. We have relied upon experts in the field of residential treatment as well as our experienced leadership team to assist us with adapting our current programming, physical environment and treatment modalities. This project is a top priority for the organization over the course of the past few months. These changes are being made to improve the treatment outcomes for our students, as well as providing a more efficient and safe environment for all that live and work at Youth Care.
We appreciate your support and understanding of our decision. We realize the inconvenience that this may cause many of you and appreciate your flexibility. We are discouraging all families from coming to Youth Care next week even for visits. We look forward to sharing our restructuring with all of you in the upcoming weeks.
We will be providing the following virtual options for families next week in lieu of in-person programming:
-
Two virtual family therapy sessions
-
Virtual Parent Seminar
-
Virtual Parent Support Group (on Wednesday evening as regularly scheduled)
We hope that all of you will be able to attend our Virtual Parent Seminar and Virtual Parent Support Group. Details regarding the day and time will be forthcoming.
Warm Regards,
Youth Care Leadership Team.

Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to having you join us for our upcoming Parent Days, the evening of January 28th -31st with on campus programming and pass time. Off-campus pass time will also be available February 1st if student is eligible and if your travel plans allow. Please look for your specific house schedules on the parent portal under “Parent Days” in the coming weeks.
Onsite visiting areas - We will have designated onsite visiting areas on campus for you and your student to spend time together. There are slots each evening and throughout the weekend for onsite visiting for families of students who do not currently have off-campus privileges. You will have an opportunity to visit your student’s home and tour during your visit. To limit the numbers of families on campus at the same time, we ask that unless you are participating in scheduled events on campus, that you are not on campus. Thursday and Friday, students will still be in school between activities.
Off Campus pass time - We are encouraging our students to invest in the program and engage in safe behaviors in order to be able to have pass time off campus. There are time slots for off campus pass time for students not currently on the Orientation or Distress Tolerance Modules, or safety precautions that require them to stay on campus, throughout the evenings and weekend. Please help encourage your student to invest in the program and work towards staying safe and progressing through the DBT Modules so that they can go off campus with you. Off campus pass time will be offered on Thursday January 29th (evening), Friday January 30th (evening), Saturday January 31 and Sunday February 1st if your student is eligible and if your travel plans allow.
During Parent Days, you will participate in two family sessions, a Parent Seminar, two Multi-Family Process Groups, a recreational activity, rotation meetings with Academics and your student’s Psychiatrist, and two Parent Support Groups. Your student’s Therapist will schedule family therapy sessions with you in the upcoming weeks. We would like to request that you participate in all scheduled events whenever possible, as this is an integral part of the experience for your child.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon and hope you will enjoy your time with us.
Sincerely,
Jaimie Branscomb
