YOUTH CARE PARENT DAYS
aug 5th- aug 8th
July 1, 2026
Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to having you join us for our upcoming Parent Days! Parents Days will be the evening of August 5th -August 8th with on campus programming and pass time. Off-campus pass time will also be available August 9th if student is eligible and if your travel plans allow. Please look for your specific house schedules on the parent portal under “House Parent Days Schedules” in the coming weeks.
We will have designated onsite visiting areas on campus for you and your student to spend time together. There are slots each evening and throughout the weekend for onsite visiting for families of students who do not currently have off-campus privileges. You will have an opportunity to visit your student’s home and tour during your visit. To limit the numbers of families on campus at the same time, we ask that unless you are participating in scheduled events on campus, that you are not on campus. Thursday and Friday, students will still be in school between activities.
Off Campus pass time - There are time slots for off campus pass time for students not currently on the Orientation or Distress Tolerance Modules, or safety precautions that require them to stay on campus, throughout the evenings and weekend. Please help encourage your student to invest in the program and work towards staying safe and progressing through the DBT Modules so that they can go off campus with you. Off campus pass time will be offered on Thursday August 6th (evening), Friday August 7th (evening), Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th if your student is eligible and if your travel plans allow.
During Parent Days, if your child is in Alpine, Horizon, or Summit House, you will participate in two family sessions, a Parent Seminar, two Multi-Family Process Groups, an Off-Campus Recreational Activity, Rotation Meetings with Academics and your student’s psychiatrist, and two Parent Support Groups. Your student’s therapist will schedule family therapy sessions with you in the upcoming weeks. We would like to request that you participate in all scheduled events whenever possible, as this is an integral part of the experience for your child.
Brighton House Parent Day programming is modified to reflect the higher student acuity/ needs.
-
• Brighton House students may have on-campus visitation. They are not eligible to go off campus for the Recreational Activity.
-
• Brighton House students, who have been approved to move to another house/ on the approved waitlist to move, are eligible for off-campus pass-time (must be discussed/ approved by therapist) AND they are eligible to participate in the off campus Recreational Activity. Lastly, these students (approved/ on waitlist to move to another house) are eligible to participate in the Multi Family Process Groups with the house they will be moving into.
-
• Brighton house will not hold Multi-Family Process Groups.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon and hope you will enjoy your time with us.
Sincerely,
Annika Perry, LMSW, CSW
